Accomplishments in a fantastic year.
2023 marked the first full calendar year of PWAP operations as the Collective continued to enhance the lives of Cowboy and Cowgirl athletes through NIL. Here are some of the highlights from 2023.
PWAP executed NIL contracts with 297 Cowboy and Cowgirl athletes during 2023. Some were ‘one-off/one-time’ agreements; some spanned the entire semester or entire academic year. But every athlete who received NIL compensation from PWAP worked for their compensation and provided documentation of that work.
The Collective paid out $2,861,889 in NIL compensation to OSU athletes in calendar 2023.
The Collective continues to keep overhead and operating expenses at the lowest levels possible, with a goal of 85-90% of each donated dollar paid out in NIL compensation.
While we continue to raise funds through direct one-on-one fundraising efforts, the Collective also embarked on several alternate revenue-generating programs – some successful, some not so much. But ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ as the old saying goes. In 2023, we will continue to look for alternate revenue sources and enhance the ones that were successful – all to help ease the burden of individual fundraising.
PWAP’s relationship with OSU Athletics blossomed greatly in 2023. We have an excellent working relationship with OSU Athletic Administration, Compliance, Licensing, Legal and Communications departments, as well as OSU Posse, Cowboy Sports Properties/Learfield, Orange Power Studios, OSU NIL Department, as well as the OSU Foundation, Alumni Association and Office of the President. As well, the Brand Squad (part of the Spears School of Business) is our partner in communicating with the student body.
