Our Work with Area Non-Profits

Working with area non-profits and charitable organizations brings purpose to the work of the student athletes. These are just an array of organizations working with PWAP.

Turning Point partners the magic of horses with tools to build productive futures for individuals with physical, mental, emotional and socio-economic challenges. We are dedicated to fostering the independence of individuals with challenges and create an environment of freedom and safety for them. We focus on four areas: therapeutic riding, literacy, at-risk kids and mobile miniatures (Baxter Black is homed at Turning Point and when he’s not doing therapy BB can be found at OSU home games).

In a world of causes, we make a difference by creating professionally supported, one-to-one relationships between children (Littles) and positive adult role models (Bigs).

Matches spend time together a few times a month based on their schedules. Through activities like baking, having lunch or going to the park, life-changing friendships are built.

Our evidence-based program builds social and emotional support, confidence and resilience that help ensure children unlock their brightest possible future.
